Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to announce to everyone that the 2012 Canada Cup will stay in Calgary, AB for yet another year.
2011 was an amazing time and we want to make sure that this year exceeds any and all expectations set by our previous events. That’s why for the first time, Canada Cup Gaming is partnering with local event promoters NetCandi.com to offer attendees three days and three nights of non-stop entertainment that doesn’t just end on the tournament floor. We are finalizing our prime time and after dark events schedule right now but here are the dates you need to know:
October 26th – 28th 2012 in Calgary Alberta Canada. The biggest complaint we heard from everyone in attendance last year was that we were to short on time and as such, everything ran super late. We hear you folks, that’s why Canada Cup 2012 is now a 3 day event.
By now, everyone is probably thinking; what games are on the fight card? What about the 5 on 5? Who’s on what teams? And, so forth.
The Capcom big three will be here for sure, King of Fighters XIII will be here for sure, Mortal Kombat? For sure. We are currently going over our schedule to gauge if more titles can be added to this year’s event and will finalize the list prior to opening pre-registration.
And, OF COURSE the 5 on 5 will see a return this year. The teams? Well that’s far to early to tell. We don’t even know!
Speaking of, another change you will see this year is that all competing players MUST pre-register online. We will not be accepting player registration at the door. We will on the other hand be selling spectator passes online and at the door, space permitting. But, as always, the only way to guarantee you are not left out in the cold is to pre-register.
The Venue? This year’s Canada Cup will be help at The Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, this venue dwarfs venues from the last two years and is surrounded by a ton of great places to eat or grab a drink. We’ll help all you out of towners this year by providing an easy map with some of our local’s favourite places to go.
